Craftsmanship: Where Digital Design Meets Balinese Tradition
Each Mythical Figures of Bali™ bracelet is the result of a bold and rare fusion: modern digital tools combined with ancestral Balinese silver casting techniques.
In Celuk, Bali’s legendary silversmithing village, most figures are still carved directly in wax or silver — a beautiful tradition passed down for generations. But this collection takes a different path. It begins with CAD drawings, 3D-printed brass prototypes, and ends in the skilled hands of artisans who understand what it means to bring a myth to life.
A Process Rarely Seen in Bali
Designer Jean-Pierre Bobbaers, a pioneer in digital design since the early days of CAD in architecture, envisioned a new approach to jewelry creation — one never before applied in Bali.
He began by sketching five symbolic figures from Balinese mythology: Barong, Hanoman, Dewi Sri, Dwarapala, and the Lion. These were then translated into high-precision 3D models, and produced in brass using one of the world’s leading 3D printing facilities, equipped with top-tier high-definition machines normally used in medical and aerospace applications.
The result: brass master prototypes capturing every fine detail with unmatched clarity — the foundation for a process that blends modern design with traditional soul.
Lost-Wax Casting, the Balinese Way
Back in Celuk, these brass figures were used to create rubber molds, from which wax replicas were cast and arranged into a wax tree — the core of the lost-wax casting process.
The wax is melted out, and molten 925 sterling silver is poured into the voids. Once cooled, the outer shell is removed by hand, revealing the raw figure inside.
This is where the magic of tradition meets the accuracy of innovation.
Natural Finish — No Coating
After casting, the figures are refined and lightly oxidized to bring out detail and depth.
Unlike commercial jewelry, no synthetic PU coating is applied. Silver is allowed to evolve naturally with time and touch.
Instead, each bracelet comes with a soft cloth, treated with a natural silver-care product, included in the packaging. This lets each wearer preserve the figure’s beauty without affecting the oxidized finish.
Engraving & Final Assembly
Before assembly, each figure is laser engraved with the Mythical Figures of Bali™ logo and the 925 hallmark, using a single high-resolution vector file for consistent placement and precision.
Bracelets are assembled by Eddy Santana, a respected production coordinator from Celuk with over two decades of experience. He mounts each silver figure onto a recycled leather strap, finished with an adjustable stainless steel claspdesigned to fit two sizes.
Crafted in Celuk. Found Only in Ubud.
The process may begin with cutting-edge design, but it ends in Balinese hands, guided by skill, ritual, and pride.
Each bracelet is sold exclusively in a small selection of 4–5 star hotels in Ubud, Bali — not online, and not mass produced.
This is modern mythology, made wearable.
And it’s crafted with care, from start to finish.
